Job summary

The State of Minnesota is seeking a Meat Inspector within the Dairy and Meat Inspection Division to perform ante-mortem and post-mortem inspections and verify HACCP compliance across meat and poultry facilities. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field or equivalent meat inspection experience, plus a valid driver’s license and readiness to travel.

Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, with some counties outside the usual territory requiring

Responsibilities

• Perform ante-mortem and post-mmortem slaughter inspections
• Evaluate plant sanitation and HACCP plans, monitor Critical Control Points
• Educate firms on existing and new meat/poultry regulations
• Work across assigned counties with occasional travel to outside areas
