Job summary

First Solar in New Iberia, LA seeks a Maintenance Technician I to perform on-site maintenance of facility, equipment and grounds with a strong focus on safety and cost efficiency. The role requires a High School diploma, with an Associate’s degree preferred and up to 6 months of related experience or military background.

Candidates should be able to read electrical and mechanical drawings, use MS Office, and demonstrate troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 6 months First Solar manufacturing experience, or related experience, or military experience, or vocational graduate.

Responsibilities

• Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed.
• Performs on-site service and repair of equipment.
• Must meet at least 70% of Estimated Repair Times.
• Collaborates with other departments.
• Follows OSHA, EPA, and company safety practices on all work assignments.
• Reads electrical & mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Performs other assignments as required.
• Manages waste generated from any work performed.
• Completes First Solar Maintenance Technician 1 training program.
