Job summary

First Solar is seeking a Technician- Maintenance I for the USA (B Crew/PM Shift) at our New Iberia, LA site. The role entails conducting facility and equipment maintenance, performing on-site service and repair, and ensuring adherence to safety practices.

Requirements include a high school diploma and a technical background, with preferred associate’s degree. Candidates should show troubleshooting ability, proficiency with Word/Excel/Outlook, and strong communication skills for cross-department

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
• Must meet one of the following: 6 months First Solar manufacturing experience or 6 months of outside manufacturing, mechanical, or agricultural experience; military experience; or graduation from vocational high school with no experience required.
• Must pass community college entrance exam and complete manufacturing maintenance training program.
• Verifiable technical skills and/or background.
• Ability to work with little supervision and demonstrates troubleshooting skill.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer applications.
• Proven communications skills and ability to follow safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs, as directed, all necessary maintenance of the facility, equipment and grounds in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Performs the on-site service and repair of equipment.
• Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed.
• Interfaces with other departments and follows standard OSHA, EPA and company safe practices on all work assignments.
