Job summary

Enterprise Community Partners is seeking a Maintenance Apprentice to support day-to-day property upkeep, safety, and resident satisfaction. You will work with the Maintenance Supervisor on repairs, preventive maintenance, and turnovers, ensuring clean, safe living environments.

You will handle basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC tasks, and assist with landscaping, while adhering to policies and providing strong customer service to residents, including older adults.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, equipment repair and painting.
• EPA 608 Certification Type II or Universal (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong organization and multitasking.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.
• Read English at a level sufficient for policies and notices.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills for older adults.
• Strong attention to detail and basic computer typing.
• Provide a basic tool set and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests in a timely, accurate, and high-quality manner.
• Perform routine, preventive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance tasks and keep logs.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate with residents, staff and guests.
• Keep dumpster areas clean and prepare dumpsters for trash collection.
• Monitor community areas for safety and maintenance needs; report issues promptly.
• Assist with apartment turnovers; repairs, renovations, painting and cleaning.
• Support landscaping, watering, and snow removal as needed.
• Follow Enterprise policies and procedures for the position.
• Respond to emergencies promptly and attend required trainings.
• Assist other communities as directed by management and perform other duties.
