Job summary

Avanath Capital is seeking a Maintenance Apprentice to join the property maintenance team. You will report to the Community Manager and perform routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and make-ready tasks to keep properties in top condition for residents and staff.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of grounds or porter experience, knowledge of safety practices, and the ability to work independently or in a team within a fast-paced environment, while upholding Fair Housing and OSHA requirements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of grounds or porter experience.
• Ability to safely operate property maintenance equipment.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance and repairs.
• Must be detail-oriented and thorough.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper cleaning solutions.
• Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality maintenance service with resident interactions.
• Complete work orders and preventative maintenance per policies and safety standards.
• Execute make-ready process for vacant homes and coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Maintain grounds, common areas, and amenities; assist with cleaning and painting tasks.
• Support cost-control by repairing instead of replacing parts when feasible and tracking inventory.
• Follow procedures to obtain materials and report reorder needs.
