Job summary

SGS Wilmington, NC laboratory seeks an entry-level Sample Custody Specialist to join the Sample Management team. Responsibilities include greeting clients, receiving samples, preparing bottle kits, and delivering to labs while maintaining safety and accurate documentation.

The role requires a High School Diploma, strong English, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Prior lab experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients dropping off samples in a professional and courteous manner.
• Receive samples directly from clients or third-party couriers.
• Unpack sample coolers and containers and document sample receipt.
• Create jobs and enter bottle/sample media records in the LIMS.
• Ship samples to clients and SGS locations.
• Maintain documentation with accuracy and clarity.
• Adhere to lab SOPs and promote a safe environment.
