Job summary

AmSpec Group seeks a detail-oriented Sample Handling Technician to manage the lifecycle of samples from receipt to disposal within our Gonzales, LA operations. You will log in, track, properly store, and dispose of all samples, adhering to API standards and EPA regulations for disposal records.

The role requires strong English communication, basic computer skills, and professional interaction with office and lab staff. It is a safety-sensitive position with required drug and alcohol testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and related experience in the industry preferable.
• Ability to read, write and clearly communicate in English.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, schedulers, and clients.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
• Familiar with word processing and spreadsheet programs.
• Interact with office and laboratory personnel professionally.

Responsibilities

• Log in, track, correctly store and dispose of all samples.
• Familiar with API procedures and documents as they relate to samples.
• Familiar with EPA regulations governing samples, disposal records.
• Carry out tasks per latest industry standards and supervisor instructions.
• Prepare reports pertaining to samples.
• Keep retain and storage area clean, organized and safe.
• Attend monthly safety meetings as required.
• Safety sensitive position requiring pre-employment, random and annual drug and alcohol testing.
