Job summary

SGS in Maine is seeking a Sample Management Technician to enter sample IDs and required tests from chains of custody into LIMS, ensure accurate receipt and documentation, and support the Sample Management Manager.

You will label bottles, transfer samples to storage, communicate with lab teams and clients, and uphold internal standards. A HS diploma is required; advanced English and strong math are essential, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required.
Experience in an environmental laboratory preferred.
Associate degree in a science-related field preferred.
Advanced English language skills required.
Strong math and reasoning skills required.

Responsibilities

Enter sample IDs and required tests from chains of custody into LIMS accurately.
Receive, document, and preserve samples and COCs; manage bottle records.
Label bottles, generate labels, and transfer samples to storage.
Communicate sample information to lab teams and clients as needed.
Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures; assist with inquiries.
Perform other duties as assigned.
