Job summary

Whitaker Construction in Nampa, Idaho is seeking an entry-level Help Desk Technician to be the first point of contact for IT issues, providing user support for Windows devices, Microsoft 365 apps, printers, and network connectivity. You will respond to tickets and assist with onboarding.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Fundamentals are a plus.
• Experience with IT help desk software and remote desktop tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise IT environments is a plus.
• Basic understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, networking, and troubleshooting methods.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for computers, mobile devices, printers, software applications, and network connectivity.
• Respond to help desk tickets, phone calls, and emails, ensuring timely resolution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and basic network issues for employees in office and field environments.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows devices, mobile devices, and business-critical applications.
• Assist with user account management, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and security permissions.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
• Educate employees on cybersecurity best practices and IT procedures.
• Assist in setting up new employee workstations and onboarding.
