Whitaker Construction seeks an entry-level Help Desk Technician to be the first point of contact for IT issues, providing user support, troubleshooting hardware and software, and assisting with system administration.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent combination considered.
• IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Fundamentals are a plus.
• Experience with IT help desk software and remote desktop tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise IT environments is a plus.
• Basic understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, networking, and troubleshooting methods.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Willingness to learn and grow within IT; multitask in fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for computers, mobile devices, printers, software applications, and network connectivity.
• Respond to help desk tickets, phone calls, and emails with timely resolution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and basic network issues for office and field employees.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows devices, mobile devices, and business-critical applications.
• Assist with user account management, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and security permissions.
• Support Microsoft 365 apps, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
• Educate employees on cybersecurity best practices and IT procedures.
• Assist in onboarding new employees and setting up workstations.
