Job summary

URBN is seeking a dedicated Service Assistant in Wayland, MA to maintain a clean dining room, deliver menu items accurately, and support the front-of-house team during busy periods. This entry-level role emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork, and a guest-focused approach to service.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role; restaurant or food service experience preferred but not required.
• Must maintain professional appearance and a team-oriented attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
• Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food and beverages accurately with a solid understanding of menu details.
• Assist guests and relay questions or concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Clear and reset tables within 3 minutes of guest departure.
• Assist with packaging takeout orders.
• Maintain awareness of the dining room and proactively assist where needed.
• Keep kitchen expo areas, service stations, and dining room clean and organized.
• Polish and restock silverware, glassware, and plateware throughout the shift.
• Monitor and remove trash and recycling regularly.
• Ensure safe and clear walkways for guests and staff at all times.
• Memorize table and seat numbers to aid in efficient service.
• Learn menu details, ingredients, and allergen protocols.
• Communicate guest concerns clearly to team leads.
• Assist FOH staff during high-volume periods.
• Help with opening and closing duties, including setting/resetting the dining room.
