Job summary

URBN is opening Terrain Cafe in Wayland and seeks an Assistant Manager to lead daily restaurant operations and ensure a best-in-class guest experience. You will support the General Manager and whole team by planning, directing dining, front-of-house, and beverage programming activities.

This role requires a track record of restaurant leadership, strong communication, and a passion for hospitality, with the ability to manage schedules, costs, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years restaurant experience
• 1 year management experience
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
• Ability to reach, bend and stoop

Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily restaurant operations and ensuring a superior guest experience in dining room
• Collaborate with General Manager to analyze and drive sales, manage profitability, and control costs (payroll, COGS, invoicing)
• Manage beverage program; maintain relationships with purveyors and inventory submission; participate in menu development
• Assist General Manager in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating employees
• Enforce company standards, policies, and procedures including sanitation, safety, dress code, and cash handling
• Interact with guests to obtain feedback and address issues; act as a brand ambassador
• Encourage a positive work environment for all staff
