Shannon & Wilson, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Utah/Murray area team. You will conduct geotechnical analyses, assist with field explorations, and contribute to engineering reports under supervision.

The firm emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration across offices. The position requires a BS in Civil Engineering and advanced geotechnical study; EIT/PE goals are encouraged.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering; MS or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering
• 0–6 years of Geotechnical Engineering experience
• Engineer-in-Training certificate in progress
• On track to PE license
• Experience in soil/rock mechanics, foundations, slope stability, tunneling or related fields
• Field observation experience: logging explorations, pile driving, earthwork, instrumentation
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Willingness to travel and valid driver license
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel

Responsabilités

• Perform geotechnical analyses and calculations.
• Prepare and write engineering reports.
• Conduct field explorations and sampling.
• Provide field observations and supervision on job sites.
• Perform geotechnical lab testing and report results.
• Interact with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.
• Support marketing with cost proposals.
• Follow QA policies and safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
