Job summary

Coast Guard Community Services Command in Cape May, NJ is seeking a Food Service Worker-01 for the Cape May CDC. The position is intermittent, up to 19 hours per week, with a pay of $17.08 per hour.

Duties include setting up serving areas, cleaning tables, preparing fruits and vegetables, operating simple kitchen equipment, and maintaining clean, safe work areas. No prior experience required; a Food Handler's Certificate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand written material and follow instructions.
• Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler's training.

Responsibilities

• Sets up serving area with glasses, utensils, condiments, salads, desserts, bread and beverages as instructed.
• Cleans tables and removes soiled dishes; transports them to the dishwashing area.
• Prepares fruits and vegetables; may operate simple kitchen equipment.
• Cleans and maintains cooking and service areas and equipment.
• Receives instructions and performs tasks consistently under supervision.
