Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician I to service our fleet of vehicles and equipment. Under supervision, you will diagnose and repair mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and reliability of our fleet.

You will conduct routine PMs, oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and recordkeeping. A high school diploma or GED is required; 1–2 years of related experience or 2–3 years of equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related automotive/diesel experience preferred or 2–3 years equivalent.
• ASE certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus; DOT regulations compliance appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and safety inspections on a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment.
• Execute oil, filter, and fluid changes per schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
• Lubricate chassis components and maintain tire pressures and tread depths.
• Record maintenance work, parts used, and labor hours; report shortages to leadership.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure tool readiness.
• Adhere to safety policies and industry standards for fleet maintenance.
