Job summary

Builders FirstSource in Carrollton, TX is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician I to service and maintain our fleet of vehicles and equipment. You will diagnose and repair mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and help ensure safety and reliability of our assets.

This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and leads, with no supervisory responsibilities. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of related automotive or diesel experience (or 2–3 years

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years related automotive or diesel experience, or 2–3 years of education with experience.
• ASE certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) services and inspections on diverse fleet.
• Conduct maintenance on trucks, vans, and specialized equipment; oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections.
• Execute scheduled oil, filter, and fluid changes per maintenance schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
• Lubricate chassis components and moving parts to minimize wear and ensure performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs; report shortages.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs as needed.
