Job summary

Intertek's Building & Construction division seeks an Entry Level Field Testing Technician in Edgewood, NY. You will assist with field testing and building inspections, traveling Monday through Friday with a shared company vehicle provided for work travel.

The role offers on-the-job training, growth within the team, and exposure to a range of building enclosure systems, tests, and reporting. Candidates must be physically capable and eager to learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• 6+ months experience with hand and power tools.
• Willingness to travel frequently for field testing work.
• Ability to learn building enclosure systems and testing methods.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on elevated platforms.

Responsibilities

• Field testing projects and building envelope testing as assigned.
• Forensic investigations of building envelope failures.
• Communicate with clients and project team regarding site observations, test preparation, procedures, results, and reporting matters; prepare and submit reports.
• Provide project coordination including planning, scheduling, execution and reporting.
• Maintain consistent and professional interaction with clients and project team.
