Job summary

Intertek Building & Construction is seeking a Field Testing Technician Level II to join our York, PA team. The role leads field testing projects, coordinates testing activities, and travels regularly to job sites.

On-site responsibilities include setting up test chambers, running equipment, and coordinating with clients throughout testing. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in commercial construction or building envelope work, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in commercial construction, building envelope or fenestration.
• Ability to learn building envelope systems and installation methods.
• Working knowledge of test methods and standards or the ability to learn them.
• Aptitude for leading a crew on assigned projects.
• Effective communication with customers and co-workers, both written and oral.
• Strong planning and organizational skills to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office & Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Lead field testing projects, data collection and report writing.
• Set up testing including rough carpentry to construct test chambers.
• Run equipment inside buildings and interact with customers during testing.
• Operate boom lifts and scaffolding.
• Assist with forensic investigations of building envelope failures.
• Communicate site observations and test prep with clients and project team.
• Plan on-site needs such as water, electricity and access with client coordination.
• Travel with overnight stays; company covers travel expenses and per diem.
• Perform physical work as required.
