Job summary

Kiewit Foundation Co is seeking an Entry Level Field/Office Engineer to contribute to complex geotechnical projects and underground foundations across North America. You will support field crews, assist in quantity takeoffs, and help prepare plans for varied underground and foundation work.

The role blends field and office work, requires reading drawings, and offers opportunities for travel, skill growth, and a path into district estimating and project support roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field within civil/mining/geotechnical/mechanical/ Construction Management.
• Experience in construction or mining is preferred.
• Willingness to travel and relocate across the country.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining % of completed/installed materials.
• Assist in preparing work plans and work packages.
• Assist in field surveying and layout support including elevation and control points.
• Assist in compiling daily labor timesheets and JHA preparation.
• Provide solutions related to underground tunneling and construction operations.
• Participate in jobsite safety reviews and safety trainings.
• Order and schedule material deliveries.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite.
• Supervise field operations.
• Perform material takeoffs and basic engineering calculations to support field ops.
• Assist in data gathering for submittals and purchase orders.
• Enter data into the cost system and assist in change orders.
