Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Services Field Technician I in the United States to perform basic remediation tasks under close supervision, including tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, decontamination, and confined space work. You will support emergency response and safety operations on site.

Responsibilities include following safety policies, operating equipment, responding to spills during and after hours, and maintaining cleanliness and tools.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and following technical, safety, and quality instructions.
• Knowledge of safety data sheets and ability to interpret hazards.
• Willingness to provide input to improve safety and practices.
• Ability to report unsafe conditions to colleagues.
• Positive attitude with resilience.
• Adherence to company safety policies and rules.

Responsibilities

• Performs tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping and shoveling, high-pressure washing, and confined space entry.
• Responds to customer spills and emergencies during and after hours.
• Maintains general housekeeping and equipment/work-site upkeep.
• Follows safety policies and regulations in all tasks.
• Sets up and uses equipment such as pumps, generators, air compressors, light towers, pallet-jack, skid steer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
