Job summary

CDM Smith, an industry leader in water resources, is seeking an entry-level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group in the United States. You will contribute to design and implementation of water and wastewater facilities, gaining hands-on experience across project stages while learning from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0 years experience; travel may be required and is contingent on duties and workload.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of water and wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
• Perform site assessments and field investigations to support project design and development.
• Assist with water quality analyses, engineering calculations, and hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
• Adjust design parameters and develop solutions based on project requirements, site conditions, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and other project documentation.
• Develop drawings, maps, presentations, and other project materials using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software.
• Collaborate with project teams and contribute to presentations for clients, industry conferences, and other stakeholders.
• Support construction management activities and participate in fieldwork, providing exposure to projects from initial planning and design through construction.
