Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to apply engineering skills on water and wastewater projects while building a solid career foundation.

You will support planning, design, and implementation of treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and related infrastructure, collaborating with experienced engineers to meet client needs and comply with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 0 years. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Supporting site assessments, water quality analyses, and engineering modeling.
• Developing and adjusting design parameters based on project needs.
• Preparing technical reports, project documentation, and client presentations.
• Using tools such as ArcGIS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM, CADD, and Excel to support engineering and design work.
• Collaborating with engineers and project teams across the project lifecycle.
• Participating in fieldwork and construction management activities, providing valuable hands‑on experience beyond the office.
