Job summary

APTIM seeks an entry-level Environmental Engineer to support federal environmental investigation and remediation projects in California. You will work under project managers and collaborate with engineers, scientists, geologists, risk assessors, and technologists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or related field (completed or in progress).
• 0–2 years of internship, research, or academic project experience in environmental investigation or water/wastewater treatment.
• Strong interest in environmental remediation, field investigations, treatment systems, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to learn field sampling methods, equipment operation, and data collection procedures.
• Ability to perform field duties outdoors and wear PPE; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collection, documentation, and organization of field data.
• Contribute to preparation of project work plans and deliverables.
• Assist with development of scopes of work and cost estimates for proposals.
• Identify environmental risks and recommend remediation strategies to support compliance.
• Perform engineering calculations, analyze data, and assist with remediation system design.
• Assist in management and interpretation of environmental data using statistics and visualization tools.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and work safely.
