Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Chief Environmental Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for environmental engineering tasks across our Government Remediation line. You will provide executive leadership, strategic direction, and oversee complex design and remediation plans. Travel to multiple offices is anticipated as part of leading a nationwide project team.

The role requires a Master’s in Environmental Engineering, 15+ years of DoD/CERCLA experience, and a PE license. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible environmental engineering experience.
  • Experience serving as Engineer of Record or senior technical reviewer.
  • U.S. citizen or authorized to work on federal contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior technical expert and authority for environmental engineering across the Environmental Remediation business line.
  • Lead development of strategic approaches and provide oversight of complex environmental designs and remediation plans.
  • Advise executive leadership on execution risk, regulatory impacts, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal environmental laws and regulations (CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act).
  • Manage a team of environmental engineers and provide career development and performance evaluations.
