Job summary

APTIM seeks a Principal Environmental Engineer to act as the senior technical authority for environmental engineering within the Government Remediation line. The role drives strategic approaches, oversees complex designs, and ensures regulatory compliance across projects nationwide.

The candidate will lead a team of engineers, require 15+ years of experience, a PE license, and the ability to travel to multiple office locations, including Knoxville, TN.

Qualifications

U.S. citizen or authorized for federal contracts.
Experience on federal government remediation projects in a leadership role.
Minimum 15 years of progressive environmental engineering experience with DoD and CERCLA.
Engineer of Record or senior technical reviewer experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
Ability to travel to project sites and APTIM offices.

Responsibilities

Serve as senior technical authority for environmental engineering across the business line.
Lead development of strategic approaches and approve complex designs and remediation plans.
Advise executive leadership on execution risk and regulatory impacts.
Ensure compliance with CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, Clean Water/ Air Acts.
Manage a team of environmental engineers, including career development and evaluations.
