Job summary

TechServ is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technician / Designer for the Electrical Distribution team. You’ll begin with 2–3 weeks of hands-on training, earn industry certifications, and become proficient with the client’s CAD software.

Under supervision of Project Coordinators, you’ll design for new builds, alterations, and redevelopments across distribution, transmission, and substation projects. This role offers growth into levels like Engineering Technician II, II, IV, with travel about

Qualifications

Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team
Attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Responsibilities

Use CAD software for client projects (new builds, alterations, redevelopments) under engineers guidance
Execute electrical design assignments per distribution standards and NES procedures
Incorporate design changes, redlines, and sketches into designs
Analyze reports, drawings, and tests to inform project design
Review drawings for quality, scope, budget, and schedule
Assist with project setup in management systems; ensure data accuracy
Travel to regional job sites approximately 20% of the time
