Job summary

TechServ is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technician/Designer for the Electrical Distribution team. You will undergo 2–3 weeks of training, gain industry certifications, and work with the client’s CAD software to create designs for newbuilds, alterations, and redevelopments. Travel about 20% is required.

The role serves as a stepping stone to higher levels within TechServ, with ongoing mentoring and development opportunities in a collaborative office environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Associate's Degree preferred in Drafting/Design Technology or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Use CAD software for client projects (newbuilds, alterations, redevelopments).
• Analyze drawings, reports, and tests to plan designs.
• Travel to regional job sites ~20% of time.
• Ensure designs meet codes, scope, budget, and schedule.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Project Coordinators on design changes.
