Job summary

TechServ in Beaumont, TX is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technician/Designer for the Electrical Distribution team. You will begin with 2-3 weeks of hands-on training and learn the client's CAD software to contribute to designs for new builds, alterations, and redevelopments.

This role offers a path for growth into Engineering Technician levels, emphasizes teamwork in an open office environment, and requires travel to regional job sites about 20% of the time.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Associate's Degree in Drafting / Design Technology (or similar) is preferred, but not required.
• Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on Excel)

Responsibilities

• Use proprietary CAD software for client projects (new builds, alterations, redevelopments) and collaborate with Engineers to implement design changes.
• Execute electrical design assignments using distribution standard drawings and NES procedures.
• Make changes to designs or sketches and review mark-ups on ongoing projects
• Analyze reports, drawings, and tests to plan and design projects
• Interpret and apply design codes and specifications for requirements
• Review design drawings for quality assurance within scope, budget, and schedule
• Support project tasks within budgeted hours and deadlines
• Assist with setup of projects in project management systems and ensure data accuracy
• Travel to regional job sites (~20%)
