Job summary

The University of Virginia’s Faculty and Employee Assistance Program (FEAP) is seeking an entry-level Employee Assistance Consultant I to provide intake, assessment, short-term counseling, and referral services under supervision. You will work with the FEAP team to support employee well‑being initiatives and outreach within UVA and community partners.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early‑career behavioral health professional seeking experience in employee assistance and workplace

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, human services, or a related field.
• Experience conducting intake assessments and providing short‑term counseling in a behavioral health setting.
• Basic knowledge of clinical documentation standards and confidentiality (e.g., HIPAA).
• Willingness to participate in on‑call rotation after training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver intake, assessment, short‑term counseling, and referral services under supervision.
• Participate in case consultation and complete clinical documentation.
• Assist with coverage of intake and scheduling processes as assigned.
• Support FEAP education, outreach, and promotional events.
• Participate in FEAP’s after‑hours on‑call rotation following training.
• Uphold professional, ethical, and organizational standards in all work.
