Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Electrical Engineer in Raleigh, NC to support project teams designing electrical systems for power, process, healthcare, airports, and industrial facilities. You will assist with drawings, analyses, and coordination throughout design and construction phases.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, with internship experience and EIT preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field required.
ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
Minimum of 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
EIT certification preferred.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Assist in electrical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
Assist with modifying and reviewing production drawings for various facilities (power, process, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational, commercial, governmental, military).
Assist in designing electrical components per project manager requirements.
Apply basic electrical engineering concepts, practices, codes, and procedures.
Assist with research and compile project data as required by project managers.
Assist with updating drawings in CAD software under supervision of senior engineers.
Assist in client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for diverse facilities.
Assist in field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to policies and standards.
