Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Denver, CO is seeking an Assistant Electrical Engineer to support design teams on a variety of facilities projects from concept to completion. You will help adapt electrical plans to budget, design factors, and client needs while gaining hands-on experience.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in electrical engineering; ABET is preferred, with internships or related consulting experience valued. EIT preferred. Full-time, on-site role with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; ABET preferred.
Internship or related consulting experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of standard electrical engineering techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical problem-solving ability; quantitative mindset.
Proficiency with CAD tools and BIM software.
EIT certification preferred.
GPA 3.0+ preferred.
Campus/community involvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist in electrical design from concept through design completion.
Modify and review production drawings for diverse facilities.
Design electrical components per project manager requirements.
Apply basic electrical engineering concepts and procedures.
Support data collection and project documentation.
Assist with CAD updates using multiple software tools.
Support client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
