Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking an Apprentice Fleet Technician to learn preventive maintenance and repair tasks for company vehicles. Under experienced technicians, you will perform inspections, diagnose issues, and support reliable fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of all vehicle systems and components.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Welding and cutting skills (gas, electric, MIG, TIG) desirable.
• Basic computer skills; able to use diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform inspections and preventive maintenance under supervision.
• Learn to conduct First Article Vehicle Inspections (FAI/CVI) as required.
• Follow safety and regulatory guidelines for inspections and repairs.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, dollies, and lift-gates.
• Document all work on work orders using standard formats.
• Use Sysco computer programs to track and manage maintenance tasks.
• Assist in diagnosing root causes and perform repairs under guidance.
