Job summary

Ericsson in the United States seeks an Associate Data Center Technician to support installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment in hyperscale and enterprise data centers. You will stage equipment, manage cabling, and document activities as part of a collaborative team.

This entry-level role builds foundational skills in data center operations, with safety and quality standards guiding daily tasks and opportunities to grow within the organization.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of computer hardware, telecommunications equipment, networking, or data center infrastructure.
• Familiarity with copper and fiber cabling concepts is beneficial.
• Ability to safely use basic hand tools and follow detailed work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Effective collaboration and willingness to learn from teammates.
• Safety and quality standards adherence.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and stage equipment and cabling.
• Perform basic inventory checks and update tracking systems.
• Assist rack positioning, leveling, and prep under senior guidance.
• Install rack accessories like PDUs and cable managers.
• Support rack-and-stack activities and device placement.
• Perform copper/fiber patching per port maps and instructions.
• Route and dress cabling to standards and labeling conventions.
• Capture serial numbers, locations, photos, and installation records.
• Execute MACD moves under supervision and document changes.
• Conduct routine inspections and escalate issues per SOPs.
