Job summary

UF Information Technology (UFIT) in Gainesville is seeking an entry-level Computer Operator I to join the Infrastructure and Communication Technology unit. You will monitor UFIT’s data center systems and networking, respond to abnormal conditions, and provide after-hours Help Desk support as part of a 24/7 coverage model.

This role reports to the Single Operations Center at the East Campus Data Center. The position requires an associate degree or equivalent with two years of relevant experience,

Qualifications

• Associate's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience.
• Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor UFIT data center systems and networking, and elevate issues as needed.
• Provide after-hours Help Desk support and respond to customer calls as required.
• Support 24x7 coverage with shift-based availability.

Education
