Job summary

University of Florida is seeking a Computer Operator I to monitor UFIT networking and data center systems around the clock. This role responds to abnormal conditions and escalates issues to on-call support, supporting UF Help Desk after hours within Infrastructure and Communication Technology's Single Operations Center.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and elevate the status of computing and networking systems, including Florida Lambda Rail.
• Respond to abnormal conditions and notify on-call support following written and oral instructions.
• Assist UF Help Desk customers after hours as needed.
• Provide coverage as part of a 24/7, 365-day shift schedule at the UF Data Center.
• Support key university batch processes, monitoring and modifying jobs as instructed.
