Job description

Part Time Data Center Facility Operator - Data Center Operations Support

Summary of Job Duties

The Part Time Data Center Facility Operator will report to the Data Center Facility Manager in IT Services. The Operator will primarily be responsible for monitoring data center facility infrastructure, including power and cooling, to ensure that systems remain operational. If necessary, faults and other incidents will be escalated to service personnel. The Operator will also serve as a dispatcher when there are issues with campus systems and services. The Operator will manage trouble tickets, chat rooms, and phone calls as needed, forwarding those problems to technical staff. Additional duties will be to monitor production job flow, related job scheduling tasks and maintaining shift logs. Other duties as assigned.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with an IT helpdesk
