Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking motivated Cable Technicians for a long-term data center build in Temple, TX. This entry-level opportunity focuses on learning hands-on structured cabling by supporting experienced technicians on a major site.

Role requires lifting up to 40 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in indoor/outdoor construction environments. On-site, contract-to-hire with standard safety procedures and project standards.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of structured cabling experience.
• Experience pulling, routing, and terminating cable.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a construction environment.
• Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Pull and route network and communications cabling.
• Assist experienced technicians with structured cabling installations.
• Handle and transport materials throughout the project site.
• Install cable trays, wireways, racks, patch panels, and related infrastructure.
• Build telecommunications closets and install supporting hardware.
• Terminate and test cabling connections.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Climb ladders and work at various heights as needed.
• Support fiber optic and copper cabling installations.
• Follow safety procedures and project standards.
