Job summary

TEKsystems seeks a Cable Technician I for our Temple, TX project supporting large-scale data center construction. Local candidates or those who can commute daily are preferred. The role includes 5-6 weeks of paid training at Cedar Rapids, IA or Columbus, OH, with travel covered.

After training, you will return to Temple to continue work full-time on a contract-to-hire basis. The position offers day shifts, potential overtime, and growth in telecom and low-voltage systems within a data center

Qualifications

• Must be local to Temple, TX or able to commute daily.
• Willing to travel 5–6 weeks to Cedar Rapids, IA or Columbus, OH for training.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors.
• OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain before starting.

Responsibilities

• Pull and route Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cable.
• Install cable tray, wireway, and support systems.
• Assist with telecommunications room build-outs.
• Mount racks, patch panels, and network equipment.
• Assist with cable terminations and punch-downs.
• Install grounding and bonding systems.
• Move and organize materials on the job site.
• Use hand and power tools safely.
• Work from ladders and elevated areas.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
