Job summary

TEKsystems is hiring a Cable Tech 1 for a data center build in Temple, TX. You will pull cable, install wiring, and assist Tech 2, using hand and power tools in a hands-on environment.

The role is contract-to-hire with a minimum one-year commitment and typical hours Monday through Friday, 6:45am–3:45pm, with possible 10-hour shifts. This is an onsite, physical role requiring lifting up to 40 lbs and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cat6 and basic cable installation
• Able to lift 40 lbs and handle physical tasks
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work onsite in Temple, TX

Responsibilities

• Pull cable and assist Tech 2
• Run and handle materials for data center build
• Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles and other devices
• Build closets (mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels) and perform grounding as required
• Terminate IDC connections (e.g. 110/66 blocks and patch panels)
• Operate tools and equipment, using two hands where required
