Job summary

ECS Limited is hiring a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician in Aberdeen, MD. No experience is required as paid training is provided, with opportunities to learn soils, aggregates, and concrete testing under seasoned professionals.

You will perform field observations, tests, and data collection, communicating daily with site teams and project managers. Training in ECS methods and safety standards will be provided, with potential certifications pursued over time.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety and CPT principles and ASTM standards.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field activities: observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites; follow guidance from senior techs and project managers.
• Perform routine field and/or lab tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following industry standards.
• Data collection: calculations and data reduction from sampling and test results; assist with drafting and admin tasks.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers; report changes to supervisor.
• Assist with organization of field equipment and notify supervisor of broken or missing items.
• Receive training in ECS methodology for observations, inspections, and testing; document findings precisely.
