Job summary

ECS Limited in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician with no prior experience. You will learn under experienced professionals to observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete at project sites.

You’ll conduct field and lab tests, collect data, and communicate with site contractors and project managers. Training and certification opportunities (OSHA 10, ASTM standards) are provided as you grow with ECS.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
No experience necessary; paid training provided.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
Valid driver's license and insurance required.
Willing to develop understanding of CMT principles and ASTM standards.
OSHA 10 certification may be required.
Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites under guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
Perform routine field and laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete.
Collect and reduce data from sampling and testing; assist with calculations and drafting as requested.
Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers; report changing site conditions.
Receive training on ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; document findings accurately.
