Job summary

ECS Limited in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician with no prior experience. You'll learn under senior staff, perform field testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete, and support project teams.

The role offers paid training, opportunities to obtain certifications (OSHA 10, ASTM standards) and career development as you gain experience and responsibilities on active site projects. Starting pay is $18-$19 per hour.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety and procedures.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials on project sites under guidance.
• Testing Procedures: Perform routine field tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following standards.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on results and sampling.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers; report changes.
• Training and Development: Participate in ECS methodology training and document findings precisely.
