County of Nevada seeks a Computer Services Technician to provide remote and in-person support to internal customers across Grass Valley, Nevada City and Truckee. The role covers desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and VoIP phones, with opportunities to participate in small projects alongside senior IS staff.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with solid customer service skills and a willingness to learn, with levels I or II opening based on experience.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, documentation and troubleshooting skills are required.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a service-driven environment.
• Level I or Level II eligibility; candidates may apply for either level.

Responsibilities

• Staff the Service Desk; assist customers with routine questions and requests for service on computer devices, software and hardware.
• Provide solutions and instructions via telephone, e-mail, or remote control.
• Respond in person to service calls on endpoint devices, systems and networks; diagnose computers and peripherals.
• Coach customers on computer operations and usage.
• Install and repair basic telephony and computer equipment.
• Resolve hardware/software problems with product vendor support and implement fixes.
• Cross-train and collaborate with IS staff to resolve technical problems.
