Job summary

South Texas College is seeking a Computer Services Analyst I in the Technology Support department. The role installs, repairs, and maintains computer hardware, peripherals, and software, and provides technical support to staff and specialists across the college district.

Minimum education is a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field with at least four years of experience. Candidate must be able to travel district-wide and support after-hours requests as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Networking, Computer Science or related field required.
  • At least four (4) years of work experience in a related field required.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and Windows; Internet research skills.
  • Knowledge with physical/virtual desktops, thin-clients, Windows, TCP/IP, SMTP, Active Directory, and group policy.
  • Knowledge of antivirus imaging software and mobile management tools.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete multiple tasks with deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team; able to adapt to change.
  • Must be available for evenings/weekends and travel within the college district.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and technical support to computer services specialists.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains computers and software throughout the district.
  • Assists in installation, configuration, and management of hardware with Analyst II.
  • Assists in development of working solutions and testing of new software.
  • Collaborates with vendors on warranty repairs and issues.
  • Assists in managing desktop enterprise software applications and servers.
  • Assists with Sentinel One, MECM, Faronics, mobile management tools usage.
  • Develops and deploys scripts and software packages.
  • Responds to client requests for hardware/software quotes; researches non-standard resources.
  • Generates hardware lifecycle reports and coordinates district-wide setups.
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends in hardware, software, networking.
  • Provides continuity of service and acts as a point of contact outside normal hours.
  • Serves on Change Management Committee and virtual project teams.
  • Travels throughout the college district as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
