Job summary
Houston Community College is seeking a technical support specialist to install, modify, troubleshoot, and repair PC hardware and software. You will perform routine maintenance, communicate with users, and help evaluate new equipment for the Technical Support area.

Qualifications
- Associate's degree or related certification required.
- 0-1 year hardware/software support experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot PC hardware and software.
Responsibilities
- Install, modify, troubleshoot, and repair PC hardware and software.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure good operating conditions.
- Communicate with users to detect possible problems.
- Assist in evaluating new equipment to be supported by Technical Support.
- Maintain inventory for maintenance and repair of computers.
- Maintain up-to-date virus protection.
- Regularly perform hard drive cleanup and maintenance.
- Maintain files for software documentation.
- Test and evaluate new software packages.
