Job summary

As part of the Chicago location of Wabtec, you will operate CNC mills and lathes to fabricate precision parts based on customer specifications. This entry-level role is for those who have completed machining coursework or are enrolled in an accredited program.

You will follow detailed instructions, read shop drawings, and work safely in a team setting, with emphasis on accuracy and reliability in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• General knowledge of machining techniques and ability to follow instructions.
• Basic shop skills with CNC mills, lathes, band saws, and grinders.
• Safely use power tools and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC mills and lathes to fabricate precision parts per specs.
• Read and interpret blueprint/drawings and use quality instruments.
• Record completed work for accurate documentation and workflow tracking.
• Work effectively in a team environment with clear communication.
