Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a manufacturing operator to run a range of machines including hammers, presses, drills and grinders. You will read blueprints, ensure parts meet specifications, and support special projects in a heavy manufacturing environment.

The role requires reading and following quality processes, adhering to safety rules, and effective communication with coworkers. Training and some on-the-job experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 3 months of related experience/training or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to read and follow all quality process/work instructions.
• Must obey all safety rules and wear all proper Personal Protective Equipment
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of machines, hammers, presses, drills, and/or grinders.
• Ensure workpiece quality is at the required specifications
• Analyze blueprints of parts and/or dies
• Verify conformance of machines workpieces to specifications
• Participate in special projects
• Follow instructions of group/crew leader
• Other duties as assigned
