Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a skilled machinist to operate CNC and conventional machines, following drawings and process sheets to produce quality parts. You will ensure accuracy, count parts, and meet production standards while identifying improvements to the process.

Candidate should have knowledge of machining techniques, ability to interpret drawings, and 5 years of machining experience. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of machining techniques and methods.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC machining equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering part drawings and use precision measuring equipment.
• Proven math, reading, and computer skills.
• Ability to receive and execute written or verbal instruction.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years of machining experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional and numerical control machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
• Follow process sheets, select tooling, offsets and fixtures to prepare machines for operation.
• Use engineering drawings and process plans; perform first piece approval and verify with precision instruments.
• Ensure quality, accurate counts, and meeting production standards.
• Look for ways to improve the manufacturing process with new fixtures or tooling.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area; adhere to safety procedures.
