Job summary

ECS Limited is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Daytona Beach team. No experience is required as paid training is provided and we will cover your certification fees.

You will conduct field testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete, work under senior technicians, and advance in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include field observations, testing procedures, data collection, and clear communication with contractors and project managers.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety and CMT principles.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials (soils, aggregates, concrete) on sites under guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
• Testing Procedures: Perform routine field tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following industry standards.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction from sampling and test results; assist with calculations, drafting, and admin duties as requested.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; report changing site conditions and testing requests.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; document findings precisely.
