Walbec Group seeks a Claims Specialist I to manage Owned Property, Equipment, and Builder's Risk claims across jurisdictions. The role focuses on investigations, documentation, reporting, and timely resolution, collaborating with Safety and Project Managers to ensure accurate claim files and reserves.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or three years of equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience handling property, equipment, Builder's Risk, or multi-line claims preferred.
• Working knowledge of insurance coverage, claims investigation, reserving, damages evaluation, and recovery practices.
• Ability to review and apply relevant insurance policy and contractual provisions.
• Experience with RMIS Origami preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with internal and external partners.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Investigates Owned Property, Equipment, Builder's Risk, and other claims of simple to moderate complexity.
• Conducts thorough claim and incident investigations.
• Communicates with Safety, Project Managers, field personnel, and internal departments for claim information.
• Maintains complete claim files and inputs data into Origami RMIS.
• Establishes reserves in line with company principles.
• Assesses coverage, liability, damages, and recovery options.
• Reviews policies, contracts, deductibles, and project documentation.
• Coordinates site inspections when needed.
• Collaborates with internal and external parties on repair or mitigation strategies.
• Monitors progress toward timely claim resolution.
• Pursues subrogation and recovery opportunities when appropriate.
• Maintains confidentiality of claim and company information.
